A Pikachu plush has spent 67 days on the International Space Station. It flew with French ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot, whose mission lasted from 11 April to 17 June 2026 and covered about 1,040 orbits of Earth, ESA reports. The photos taken on board are now part of a joint ESA and Pokémon exhibition.
For World Space Week, from 4 to 10 October, the exhibition moves into museums across Europe, with stops in seven countries planned until April 2027:
- Cité de l'espace, Toulouse
- Deutsches Museum, Nuremberg
- Euro Space Center, Belgium
- Science Museum, London
- Space Expo, Noordwijk
- Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, Valencia
- Lucca Comics & Games, Lucca
The museums also host Pokémon GO activities from 4 October 2026 to 30 April 2027. For collectors, the partnership has produced its own accessory line with Astronaut Pikachu: a playmat, a zip binder, card sleeves and a double deck box. According to PokeZentrum, the line is also sold at the German Pokémon Center; Pokémon introduces the campaign on its site.
