Mega Heatran ex will reach players in Japan through Pokémon Card Gym events from 1 November 2026, as the headline card of the sixth promo pack of the MEGA era. The official Japanese card site announced the pack on 16 October: every pack contains a single card drawn at random from a pool of seven.
Two of those seven are entirely new: Mega Heatran ex and a Supporter that English-language fan sites call Lebanne. Gastly and Golett return with fresh artwork, while Hariyama, Energy Recycler and one more Supporter are stamped reprints. According to PokeBeach's write-up, a participant in a regular Gym Battle can come home with up to two packs, since winners earn an extra one on top of the entry prize.
The Heatran is a 300-HP Metal-type Basic Mega Pokémon ex, catalogued by Bulbapedia as promo 169/M-P. While it sits at full HP, its Ability cuts the damage from opposing attacks by 60. Its attack does 140 and, as PokeGuardian's translation shows, gains another 140 if used again the following turn.
The Pokémon Company has not said when or whether the card will be printed outside Japan.
