A post from The Pokémon Company International meant to promote this year's McDonald's Happy Meal cards showed the wrong set on 29 October: every card in the images carried an "M27" stamp instead of the "M26" symbol used on the 2026 promotion. The post was deleted shortly afterwards, but PokéBeach had already archived the 15 cards.
According to ComicBook's summary, the lineup consists of Bulbasaur, Rowlet, Sprigatito, Charmander, Torchic, Squirtle, Piplup, Pikachu, Raichu, Clefairy, Slowpoke, Marill, Gengar, Eevee and Snorlax. Almost all of them are reprints of recent cards, and none of them is a Generation 10 Pokémon.
The exception is Squirtle. Its illustration by Kariya has not appeared on any card yet, not even in Japan, and Wargamer reports an attack called Splatter that does 10 damage to one of the opponent's Benched Pokémon. Because McDonald's sets normally reuse existing cards, TheGamer expects the Squirtle to debut in a regular expansion first. PokéBeach names the Japanese sets Aura Seeker and Mega x Mega Parade as candidates; neither is confirmed, and TPCi has not acknowledged a 2027 promotion at all.
The 2026 Happy Meal cards themselves are unaffected. They start in the US on 10 November, after Canada on 3 November and Australia on 5 November, as TheGamer lists.
