The Pokémon Company International announced on 21 October that it will open a permanent Pokémon store in London by 2029. It is the brand's first permanent shop outside Asia, and the company calls it the first of several such stores planned beyond that region.
Much is still open. There is no address yet, no exact opening date and no confirmed name; the announcement speaks of a "retail destination" rather than a Pokémon Center. TPCi only promises exclusive merchandise and experiences for fans of every age, and Chief Product and Experience Officer Gaku Susai framed the shop as a place to step into the world of Pokémon. Whether it will sell sealed card products or host play has not been said.
For context: of the 20 official Pokémon Centers, 18 are in Japan, with one each in Singapore and Taipei, and a Bangkok store follows in December. European fans have so far depended on temporary pop-ups, most recently at London's ExCeL and the Natural History Museum. No other cities outside Asia have been named, so the London site is, for now, the only confirmed step west.
